Florida Suds And Light Second Annual Convention!

An annual convention was started in central Florida by Cari Bourassa, owner of a group called Florida Soapers. 2004 was the 6th annual gathering. But unfortunatly, Mother Nature had other plans. The first of 3 hurricanes to hit central Florida in a 6 week period, hit the night before the gathering.

A handful of gathering "addicts" met up at the host hotel, as the gathering site had sustained damage from the hurricane and also had no power. Cari tried to reschedule another gathering for all those that still wanted to come, but alas, another hurricane hit our area.

After the third hurricane hit here, Cari had sustained alot of damage to her home from all the storms. She was physically and emotionally drained. She decided to give up her group and the gathering forever.

But some of us could not let this die and decided to bring it back to Central Florida! So Michelle O'Connell, Pat Owens and Robin Woods created a new group and with lots of hard work, are bringing the 1st annual Florida Suds and Light Convention back for all to enjoy!

In addition to soapmakers, we also wanted to include candle makers too! After all, they do go together. So we are sure that THIS year will be a wonderful time for all that come. Lots of demos, goodie bags and food! Not to mention, a fun day with fellow crafters that all share the same interests!
